חוק החופים, הנועד להגן על הסביבה החופית, יורחב גם לחופי הכנרת - כך החליטה אתמול ועדת השרים לחקיקה. במקביל, נעצר חשוד ראשון בהרעלת הדגים בכנרת בסוף השבוע האחרון, ככל הנראה על רקע סכסוך על שטחי דיג.

חוק החופים, בין היתר, מחייב מתן מעבר חופשי בחופים ציבוריים (אך מאפשר גביית כסף על שירותים כמו חניה או השכרת כסא-נוח), ומטיל איסורים והגבלות על פגיעה בחוף. משמעות החוק בפועל היא, שניתן יהיה להשלים תוכניות בנייה שכבר אושרו ע"י ועדות תכנון ומבנים קיימים יישארו על תלם, אך תוכניות שנמצאות בהליכים ראשוניים, ייתקלו בהגבלות ותנאי אישור קשוחים יותר. בנוסף, תוקם ועדה לשמירת הסביבה שתהיה מוסמכת לדון ולהחליט בכל תוכנית והיתרי הבנייה בקרבת החופים.

לדברי ח"כ אופיר פז-פינס (עבודה) שיזם את החוק, "סגירת חופים ציבוריים לשימוש פרטי, גביית תשלום מופקע בגין הגישה לחופים, בנייה ושימושים המנוגדים לטובת הציבור, כל אלו מחייבים הסדרה דחופה ופיקוח על השימושים והבנייה בתחום הכנרת".

מהחברה להגנת הטבע נמסר כי "מדובר בצעד חשוב ביותר ללקיחת אחריות של המדינה על חופי הכנרת והשבתם לציבור. ניתן לומר שהחלת החוק מהווה את תחילת סופו של עידן המערב הפרוע בכנרת".

בתוך כך, משטרת טבריה עצרה אתמול תושב העיר, בן 30, החשוד בהרעלת הדגים בסוף השבוע בכנרת. ע"פ החשד הוא ביצע את המעשה במסגרת סכסוך על שליטה בשטחי דיג באגם. נגד החשוד מתנהל בימים אלו משפט נוסף על מעשה דומה.

שני חיילים שאכלו דגים מורעלים הגיעו אתמול לפנות בוקר לחדר מיון עם תלונות על כאבי בטן חזקים. ככל הנראה, הם טיילו באזור ומצאו את הדגים צפים על המים. הם שוחררו לאחר שהוטב מצבם. פקחי אגף הדייג במשרד החקלאות ומנהלת הכנרת פתחו בסריקת שווקי הדגים באזור הצפון על מנת לאתר את הדגים המורעלים. בטבריה ובנצרת לא נמצאו דגים מסוכנים למאכל.
